Scrub 12-14-2012 8:16:47 PM CST Why do preachers yell and speak to their audiences like they are angry or have a "Hitler" type tone of voice?
Solo Answers 12-12-2012 8:34:15 PM CST To Fish: William Tyndale said it best in the year 1528 - "If God promise riches, the way thereto is poverty. Whom he loveth, him he chasteneth: whom he exalteth, he casteth, down: whom he saveth, he damneth first. He bringeth no man to heaven, except he send him to hell first."
Fish 12-12-2012 7:15:29 AM CST Why suffering?
Solo Answers 12-11-2012 4:02:45 AM CST To Boomer: It is not my place to judge. I can say I would like to live like a king if I could do it with a inter-peace that I didn't get by any means of deceit or corruption. If God bless me with prosperity I will strive to be a good steward. As for those with self-serving motives I will leave that to the Lord for I believe he will deal with them appropriately and in a more personally moving way. Ego flexing in front people with less that you is definitely not the Lord's way.
Boomer 12-11-2012 1:35:32 AM CST I was just reading about the African Pentecost Preacher getting a new jet and a lot more preachers would be getting them also. What do you think about Plutocrat Preachers that build mansions, drive Bentleys and live extravagant lifestyles while the majority of their followers are struggling to get by?
Solo Answers 12-11-2012 1:22:55 AM CST To Jump: It is a matter of semantics. Dying to self in Christian ease is the complete surrender of self will to the will of Christ. For most surrender only comes after self gratification is attained. To love yourself is for the quasi-Christians; for scriptures tell us to love others and to love God. If loving self means to love the holy spirit within us then that is a different thing altogether.
Jump 12-09-2012 7:53:27 AM CST How do I die to self and love myself at the same time?
Solo Answers 12-09-2012 4:17:31 AM CST To Keys: I suggest you read the book of John. The whole book so not to take any part out of context.
Keys 12-08-2012 2:34:50 AM CST I have heard all my life that Christ's dying on the cross was the atonement for all mankind's sins past, present and future. Can you tell me which red letter verse in the Bible specifically states this promise?
Solo Answers 12-08-2012 2:22:17 AM CST To Keys: To know love is to ask yourself who would you die for? Christ took the bullet for us, he died on the Cross for our sins. Would you die on a cross for him?
Keys 12-07-2012 12:31:47 AM CST What is the definition of love according to the Bible? Is the Lord's love toward us the same as we are supposed to have?
Solo Answers 12-06-2012 9:35:41 PM CST To Bing: If you keep your focus on your faith and future goals, your fears and failures will fade away. Love covers many sins.
Bing 12-06-2012 1:56:59 AM CST The red letters in the Bible state "Follow my commandments" which none have ever done completely. So how can one be happy about failing throughout life? How can one be happy when failing in life? Is it possible for a deeply committed Christian to be happy about their life or even in their life with all the failure?
Solo Answers 12-05-2012 12:21:12 AM CST To Lacey: Even if all the church buildings were to be shut down the spirit of Christ would live on. Russia and China has been a good example of this.
Lacey 12-04-2012 5:54:56 AM CST Are morals really important? Who is going to teach them when all the Churches are shut down?
Solo Answers 12-01-2012 12:11:29 AM CST To Ernestine: When Jesus was on the cross he told one of the other guys on a cross next to him that he would join him in paradise, today and all through the Bible it speaks of people going to heaven before the rapture. What I don't understand is - Jesus told the dude he would join him in paradise today but then when Jesus died he didn't go straight to heaven according to my understanding of the scriptures. Why was it that only Luke mentioned this dialog.
Ernestine 11-30-2012 7:31:35 AM CST When I die to I go to heaven right away or lay in the grave till the rapture?
Solo Answers 11-30-2012 1:37:11 AM CST To Clevis:All things work together for those who love God. The edition of the Bible you read, the ministry you hear, the message you receive is not by chance but God delivered. The meaning you hear today is for today, the meaning you hear tomorrow is for tomorrow. Fortune cookies may be ambiguous and wise but have no means of salvation or relation to God.
Clevis 11-28-2012 8:42:13 AM CST If the Bible is the word of God why didn't he write it so it could be clearly understood by everyone? Take any verse, ask three different preachers and you'll get three different meanings. Who's right? Is the Bible like a Chinese fortune cookie?
Solo Answers 11-26-2012 10:00:19 AM CST To Fuzzy: Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me.
Fuzzy 11-24-2012 4:25:01 AM CST It seems my greatest downfall in life has been in trusting people who claim to be Christians but later ending up burning me in one way or another. I don't want to become cynical of all people but also don't want to be gullible just because someone claims to be a Christian. What's the right thing to do?
Solo Answers 11-23-2012 1:01:25 AM CST To Scooter: O.C.D.addictions of any kind are tough but chemical addictions are some of the toughest to divorce. Three suggestions are - get professional help, change your environment, and most important convince yourself that prayer really works. If you will make prayer real in your life whatever the challenges are; the Lord will provide a way to cope if not conquer.
Scooter 11-22-2012 5:10:42 AM CST I have an addiction to nicotine that I can't seem to break. I've tried pleading, praying, and promising to God to overcome this but just can't seem to beat it. Like any addiction, it doesn't satisfy but rather perpetuates more and more self abuse. What am I doing wrong that God won't take this burden from me?
Solo Answers 11-21-2012 12:03:27 AM CST To Dutch: When Christ states in the Bible we are to follow him, he was referring to his spiritual obedience to God not to his physical activities. Christ rode on a donkey, he traveled from town to town, he died on a cross for your sins. These are not things you should or could do as a lifestyle.
Dutch 11-20-2012 3:20:15 AM CST It is taught we should strive to be like Christ, right? Christ had no wife, no children, no lover; how long would the human race last if all mankind were to follow that lifestyle?
