Why Jesus?

To Blade: In the beginning brothers had to marry sisters, and this was acceptable up until the time of Mosses. Adam and Eve lived for hundreds of years and had many children that inter-married to populate the earth. (this is the short answer, there is more to know about this.) Cain's wife was his sister.

So where did Cain's wife come from? The Bible states there were no others, other than Adam and Eve's children.

To Pinky: Love is not hurtful, people are. Many say they are Christians but they are not. Many say they love but they don't. Whether they are or not, do or don't depends on your definition of the words.

Hey Solo that was a good pitch to Frieght Train but you didn't answer his question about love being hurtful. I was looking forward to a good answer on that.

In some countries the rulers will tell you how to live, what you can and can't do. The Lord is not like that; he always gives you the choice to follow him or not. He doesn't make any promises that you will be rich, famous or of some supernatural ability. He doesn't promise you a rose garden type of life. If fact he says the world will be against you if you follow him. What he does promise is the strength to endure, even grow stronger, in the face of any adversary petition or complaint brought against you. He promises to be closer than a friend and when your time is done on this planet he promises to transcend you to his heavenly side for eternity. The question you must ask yourself is do you believe in eternity and is it worth the risk to blow it now for a few moments of cheap thrills that you probably won't even remember in the morning. The Lord doesn't require perfection, only sincere dedication. Party now, pay later. Pray now, prosper later.

Love has always been conspicuously absent in the most of my life, or it was so obscure I didn't see it. Oh, I got the words and the jesters but rarely the action of love. So I never really learned how, but when I have tried it seems to be a hurtful thing; so I have become, comfortably numb. And you want me to change all that to become a vulnerable target in a cut throat world. That's a lot to ask. Convince me if you can.

To Ein: (Continued) If you get to heaven before me please send me a letter with the Lord's answers to the questions that have no answers on earth. Maybe then I can also understand. Thanks (I don't know what's going on with this form link, it seems to have started cutting off some of the script.)

To Ein: The answer would depend on who you asked. I would like to think we are all spiritual, just some are more so than others. So at what point does devout become savant? We are all children of God so at what point do stop be prodigious and reach spiritual maturity? If you get to heaven before me please send me a letter with the Lord\\

Was Christ the only prodigious spiritual savant that has ever lived?

To Kick: You have to have a manuscript (the book) before you can have a movie or any other media. A book can be written and published without much commitment other than the time it takes to have your OCR software write it and edit it for you. But, to make a movie is a real step of faith and that bar is to high for most preachers to reach.

Most of the kids today don't read books unless it is required in school. But the preachers keep writing them; why don't they try a different media that the teenagers and young adults will accept, like a movie or a song or a sitcom. Old folks buy and read some of them cause they have the time, others don't.

To Chang: God is all powerful therefore sometimes he allows things to happen and sometimes he makes things happen. You can change your perspective of the world just as easily as God. There are people on this earth that live in a world of love and happiness, peace and understanding. You can too.

Is God controlling our lives or did he give us a set of abilities and it is up to us to use them or not? With God's capabilities and intelligent design why didn't he create a world of peace and happiness, love and understanding? The popular answer to that question doesn't work for me.

To Traveler: Take two sheets of paper, on one write down all the things you want, on the other write down what you are willing to do to get them. That should be a pretty good wake up call for you.

I hear all these stories how God has healed, prospered, protected, and lifted up so many people; why isn't he doing it for me?

To Pelagia: The Church is the only place I know of that "teaches" love and happiness, and even there not all practice it.

To Chester: I agree the Christian videos and movies are limited but more are being made and they are getting better and better. However if you are not pleased with what is available perhaps you should consider making one yourself or provide the funding for one to be made.

Does every story told by a Christian have to be a drama? Is there no humor that can also encourage the Christian? Almost every Christian movie I see appears to be written by a drama queen; give me a break. It's no sin to smile or laugh.

To Speed: I would say the worst of sinners are either inmates, soon to-be inmates, or the people that represent them, not church members. It may be that some members need more forgiveness than others but I would suggest most just want to interact with others that have a common interest in Christ.

Are church members the worst of sinners that need more forgiveness than non church people?

To Sarge: The Bible may not specifically speak to the phrase "right of privacy" but it does have a lot to say about the nosy people that would violate your privacy.

To Sarge: The Bibles I checked do not have the phrase "right of privacy" however the Bibles do speak of rights and the Bibles do speak of private events. Christ prayed in private. I would suggest if you are wanting a more in depth study to go to the website of "The Bible Gateway".
