Poems Prayers Promises
I sure would like to kiss an angel, good morning.
“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
St Teresa of Avila
Delving into the internal power of prayer creates an external strength no humanist can even conceive.
The devices of the devil are no match for the prayerful Christian.
May God's bountiful blessings be forever with you.
Lord, I give my heart and soul to you.
Please be gentle; it has been abused
and could easily break.
Jesus made the promise.
Jesus, who has said, "Ask and you shall receive,
seek and you shall find,
knock and it shall be opened unto you."
I knock, I seek and I ask
that my prayer be granted.
Jesus, who has said, "All that you ask the Father
in my name, He will grant of you."
I humbly and urgently ask Thy Father, in Thy Name,
that my prayer be granted.
Jesus, who has said, "Heaven and Earth shall pass away
but my word shall not pass."
I feel confident that my prayer will be
My prayer is that my days on earth will be lived
with peace, wisdom and a happiness
that is pleasing to you.
I pray that this prayer be granted
not only to me
but to all who seek after you.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light; and
Where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that
We are born to eternal life.
To be honest, to be kind, to earn a little and to spend a little less;
to make upon the whole a family happier for his presence;
to renounce when that shall be necessary and not be embittered;
to keep a few friends, but these without capitulation;
above all, on the same given condition to keep friends with himself ---
here is a task for all that a man has of fortitude and delicacy.
(Robert Louis Stevenson)
Lord when you use me to help others,
it makes life worth living.
You are writing a gospel,
A chapter each day,
by the deeds that you do,
By the words that you say,
Men read what you write
Whether faithless or true,
Say, what is the gospel according to you?
In the youth of my faith
you were my star, my rest, and my peace.
But now I'm old and you are even more,
my friend , my everlasting hope.
It is my prayer that the decendents of this earth not yet known
will continue to release the beauty and woinder of God's love
through out the universe for evermore.
Another year has pasted,
I've spent with Christ,
and I'm sure,
I don't even know yet
all that I've learned.
Grow old along with me.
The best is yet to be.
The last of life, for which
The first was made,
Our times are in His hand,
Who saith a whole I planned,
Youth shows but half; trust God:
See all, nor be afraid.
I am only one, but I am one;
I cannot do everything,
But I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do
And what I ought to do
By the grace of God I will do
"Your a no-count loser. Your just wasted space. You'll never amount to anything. I hate you. You can't get anything right. You are to stupid to live. Why don't you just curse God and die."
That's going to leave a scar.
Unconditional faith in Christ can heal even the deepest wounds and scars.
He is closer than a parent; closer than a friend.
He loves you, love him.
To the Nation of Christians
For over two thousand years your followers have loved you.
Because we learned thru those years to rely upon our own energies
to cling with all our might to our highest Christian ideas and ideals,
to never fret, repine or envy.
We have never believed that all greatness is in the past
for we have discovered Christians who have traits of princesses, prophets, and saints.
We have learned if plans fail
to not be disheartened
as long as our purposes are right we cannot fail.
As Christians we cultivate ideal friendships
for we expect our friends to be of pure hearts and noble souls.
Remember, following Christ is a grand adventure and mystery to be lived,
not a problem to be solved.
You left me just when I needed you most,
but Christ remained.
A peace I can't explain.
He saved me.
The F prayer
Father, thank you for the freedom, faith, fellowship, forgiveness, food, fun, fascination, futurity, favor, fairness, friendship, family, feelings, females, fervor, finance, finish, fitness, flair, flora, fluency, focus, followers, fondness, forbearance, foresight, fortitude, fortune, fourth-of-July, frankincense, free-speech, freewill, frogs, frisson, fulfillment, and the funambulism to know what it means. Amen (SS)
When was the last time you invited anyone to go to church with you? or perhaps visited someone unable to go to church?
Poems and Lyrics
Don't be Angry
Don't be angry at those wiser than you,
Don't be angry at those smarter than you,
Don't be angry at those richer than you,
Don't be angry at those happier than you,
It's not their fault.
Don't be angry...
For My Dying Darlin's Love
By Solo Standings
Know, I am thinking of you,
I am praying for you,
I am missing you,
I love you.
Our life together will never end.
For true love doesn't die,
and our memories of it
will live in us eternally.
If the Lord is calling you home
take his hand, go with him in peace.
I will be alright
If you leave, you will be taking
a warm part of me.
I am so grateful for the time
we were given to share.
You have been my companion,
my helpmate, my comfort, and joy.
I am lost without you here
but life goes on,
I will be alright.
Thank you for the kindest memories,
If I could, I would,
take the bullet for you,
“Have you never lived”
written by Solo Standings
If you never trust
If you never love
If you never have a faith
larger than yourself
If you only believe in the things
You can see, touch or feel
Will your life never be, never be
Wise people learn
If you trust in the Spirit
that leads you to love,
to believe in the spirit
much larger than yourself
You will see,
You will touch,
You will feel
that will be forever lived.
Will your life never be, or ever be
Will your life be the power
that love needs to grow,
Its the seed that you sow.
Will it be
Can Spirits Read?
If spirits can read this goes out to my Dad. “Thanks for everything.”
My dad, a man who lived by composure and integrity, faith and patience, meekness and strength. In the twenty-three years I knew that man, I never once heard him yell, or speak out of control. He didn't speak idle words, when he did speak, it counted. You could trust what he had to say would be correct for he would qualify his words with reference or experience. A wise man of few words, when he spoke to me, there was no challenge to his requests for he would not ask anything of me he would not do himself, or that was not in my best interests. Few men I have met in my life can compare to his inter-strength of a man, a dad. His memory will last a lifetime for me. (Father's Day June 21, 2010)
Here I am Jesus, talkin to you again.
Jesus, I got this idea, if God's word could saturate the Internet more than the porn industry, wouldn't that make this world a better place to live? That's my prayer for today.
Whatever Stewardship you entrust with me, I will do my best to be a good keeper.
Don't Love Me
by Solo Standings
Don't love me, for I will let you down.
Don't love the things I do for you, for they will pass
Don't love the gifts I give to you, for they are only an expression.
Love the Jesus in me for he is sufficient.
Love the Jesus in me for he is the only good I know.
Love the Jesus in me for he will touch your soul.
If you will love the Lord, he will be the centerpiece of our love together forever.
The Last Road Trip (Solo Standings)
If I should crash on the road,
I guess I got to bold or old
So throw my bones in a hole
and say good-by to my weary soul
As you ride into the sunset
I hope you'll remember the time we spent
And mile after mile, smile your time away
because I'll be looking down, remembering the day.
when on our motorcycles we came out to play.
